FAQ

What type of things do you teach?

My teaching focusses on mixed media techniques and art journaling. I like showing you how to use your supplies to achieve specific effects, how to draw & paint, picking colours & colour schemes and having fun while creating art that you can feel proud of! My courses also often focus on clearing your creative blocks, encouragement & feeling good about yourself and your art (whether you’re a beginner or seasoned artist).

Are your courses suitable for beginners?

Yes! I try to make my material accessible for all levels. This means in-depth instruction through video and PDF. I encourage everyone to work at their own level & comfort zone (while subtly nudging you forwards!).

Are your courses suitable for intermediate/advanced artists?

Most courses comprise of an instructional element as well as the more overall inspirational experience. I fully believe that whatever your proficiency level you will be able to get a great experience out of it. Some courses will include summary videos as an added bonus which is perfect for those who just want brief instructions and to be inspired to take things their own direction. Please check individual course descriptions to check what is included.

What format are courses delivered in?

Courses are delivered online on this website in a members only area. Most courses are delivered via a combination of videos that you access via your computer/tablet/phone & written instructions (PDFs). All course materials are downloadable. A Facebook group is available for connecting with other students, asking questions and sharing work.

What do I need to take a course?

A supply list will be provided for each individual course (you can check this before purchase) and an indication will be given which supplies are essential and which are ‘nice to have’. I try to keep courses accessible in terms of the amount of supplies needed. Longer and more in-depth courses may require more materials.

All courses are delivered online. You will need an email address in order to sign up for an account & a computer/tablet/smartphone to access the course. A reasonably fast internet connection is recommended to watch and/or download the video material. If you wish to download course material you will need adequate storage space.

How are courses structured?

All courses usually include video material and a PDF to guide you through the techniques to complete the project(s). Longer or more in-depth courses are usually divided into several weeks or lessons. Check individual course pages for full details of what is included.

In the course directory you will see a bold course type, these mean the following:

Short Workshop: A single project based lesson. You get access to all materials upon signing up or on the class start date. These types of projects can usually be completed in one or two sittings. Workshops are usually self-study.

Mini Course: A short course revolving around 2-3 lessons in which you will complete more than one project and/or learn multiple techniques. You get access to all materials upon signing up or on the class start date. Each lesson can usually be completed in one or two sittings. Workshops are usually self-study.

In-Depth Course: These are longer workshops covering several weeks. Every week you will get access to the next lesson. Longer courses such as these will run live when they launch (they will have a fixed start date) and may be offered as self-study in future.

What happens after I click to buy a course?

You will be taken to Paypal to make your payment. If you don’t have a Paypal account you can still checkout with a debit or credit card. You will be redirected to this site and prompted to create an account (or login if you have an existing account). You will also be sent an automated email prompting you to do those things in case you want to do it later. Your purchased course will automatically appear in your dashboard upon login. For self-study courses you will have immediate access to all materials. For live courses and courses with a set start date access to materials will be available from the relevant date, but preliminary details (supply list etc) will be available immediately. For classes that include a Facebook group you will be supplied with the relevant link where you can request access and access will be granted within 48 hours.

Can I download/print the course materials?

Yes, you can download all course materials (videos, PDFs, templates) and you are free to print the materials for your own personal use.

What do courses cost in $ (USD), € (EUR) or other currency?

You can check current exchange rates for £ (GBP) into your currency here: http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/. An indication of $ or € is usually given on course pages, but due to the fluctuating nature of currency exchange rates, this can only be correct at the time of publishing the course. When you purchase a course Paypal automatically converts your currency into £.

Do you have a refund policy?

I believe in the great value and high quality of my courses. Due to their downloadable nature no refunds will be given on any course with instant access to all materials. Refunds will be allowed on any course with a set start date provided a refund is requested and processed before the start of the course.
